Where We Give

Rooted in Winston-Salem, Strickland Family Foundation directs the majority of its charitable support to organizations serving North Carolina.

While our giving reaches communities across
the state, we maintain a special connection to
the greater Winston-Salem/Forsyth County
area - the community where the Strickland
family's legacy began.
Please note: While the Foundation's administrative office has temporarily relocated to Charlotte, our mission and grantmaking priorities remain
unchanged. Our commitment remains focused
on organizations in the greater Winston-Salem/
Forsyth County area.
The Strickland Family Foundation was established in 1994 by Robert Louis Strickland ("Bob") and his wife, Elizabeth Miller Strickland ("Betty"), as a reflection of the values that guided their lives and 66-year marriage. Together, Bob and Betty shared a deep commitment to education, community service, faith, and helping others. Throughout their lives, they invested their time, leadership, and resources in strengthening the communities they called home - from supporting local schools and churches to helping establish arts, youth, and mentoring programs. The Foundation was created to extend that legacy, providing a lasting way to support organizations that improve lives, expand opportunity, and strengthen communities for generations to come.
